Sketchbook continued.

This piece of work folded out from the sketchbook. The second half of the book will have more completed pieces rather than experimental doodles.

Sketchbook continued.

The first idea on this page I illustrated after reading an article in Howies Autumn catlogue on how tree's seem more valuable dead than alive [after we turn the into coffee table etc].

I've been interested in the idea that we are the key to making things brighter for the future n being more thoughtful in how we shop. This giving less of an impact on our planet. I like the idea of a weak link in a bike chain.

Sketchbook continued.

This piece of work came from reading about the resources and source of material used for clothing. I messed up slightly on this, wasn't supposed to highlight the 'Y' on the word your. I wanted to give two messages in one sentence...'Limit your resources maximise your potential & 'Our sources maximise your potential.
The point was to limit what we use as a consumer and how that can make us more thoughtful and creative about what we wear. To also point out that sourcing more thoughtful materials benefit those who use clothing for a purpose as well as for style.

More sketchbook work

More recent work. I based these pages on how much we demand from our planet an expect it to give constantly. I've been enjoying playing wth words within words lately and plan to explore this more.

The first page.

The first page of my latest project. This was a by-product of the front cover. The arrows are indicating the siloetted character to be heading in the wrong direction. I've also used my own Pylon type to illustrate the words Cardigan Bay.

A new Chapter.

The start of a new project based on T'shirt design and researching the brand Howies. I made this sketchbook out of recyled paper donated to me from a local school. The spine has been stitched together using green cotton that had also been given to me by the friend on the cover. Howies is based in Cardigan Bay on the West coast of Wales. The photo for the cover I shot in Wales three years ago when climbing with a friend for his 30th birthday. I've tried to keep as true to the ethos of howies and every moment of making this book has been carfully thought out and where ever possible recyled material used. I hope you like the look!

Imelda May.

Imelda May on stage doing a damn fine job.

The very amazing, the very stunning Journalist Jenni Stalmach enjoying the sounds of Amelda May at Holmefirth's Picturedrome. Weds 30th of September.
